Keyword Research Tool
Professional-grade keyword research with search volume, competition, and intent data. Find keywords that actually rank.
Why Keyword Research Matters
Keyword research is the foundation of any successful SEO strategy. Without it, you're guessing what your target audience is searching for. By identifying exact search phrases, understanding search volume, and analyzing competitor difficulty, you can build a content roadmap that compounds over time instead of one that chases whatever seemed interesting that week.
Understanding Search Intent
Not all keywords are created equal. Search intent is the "why" behind a query, and it's critical for ranking. Every keyword here is classified into one of four main intents:
- Informational: the user wants to learn something (e.g. "how to tie a tie").
- Navigational: the user wants to find a specific website or page (e.g. "facebook login").
- Commercial investigation: the user is researching before making a purchase (e.g. "best running shoes").
- Transactional: the user is ready to buy right now (e.g. "buy nike pegasus size 10").
How to Use This Tool
- Start broad: enter a broad "seed" keyword related to your industry or product. Every result is a longer phrase containing that seed, so a wider seed returns a wider net.
- Filter by difficulty: drag the difficulty slider down to the range that matches your site's authority. A new site should be looking well below 30, not at the biggest numbers on the list.
- Match content to intent: if a keyword is transactional, build a product or landing page. If it's informational, write a comprehensive blog post. Publishing the wrong format is the most common reason good keywords never rank.
- Go deeper: run a shortlisted term through the Keyword Difficulty Estimator to see the live top 10, then plan the articles around it with the Content Cluster Generator.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the search volume data?
Search volumes are a 12-month average pulled from our provider's search-engine data, refreshed continuously. Treat them as a reliable way to compare keywords against each other rather than as an exact traffic forecast — no tool, ours included, can promise the latter.
What does Keyword Difficulty (KD) mean?
Keyword Difficulty is a 0–100 score estimating how hard it will be to reach the top 10 organic results. It is calculated from the backlink profiles and authority of the pages currently ranking, so it describes your competition rather than your keyword.
How is search intent decided?
Intent is classified by our data provider from the kind of results Google returns for the query, not by guessing at the wording. A small number of keywords come back without a classification, and those show a dash rather than a guess.
Can I export the keyword lists?
Yes. Every run includes a CSV of all 250 keywords with their volume, difficulty, CPC and intent, and the export always matches whatever filters you have applied. Live keyword data is billed to us on every lookup, so the tool is part of a Pro plan.
