Why Answer Customer Questions?
The internet has shifted from broad, short-tail searches to specific, long-tail questions. When someone types a question into Google they have high intent — they want an answer, and they want it now. By answering those questions directly on your site you establish topical authority, build trust, and significantly increase your chances of capturing a featured snippet or a citation in an AI Overview.
How to Build Content Around Questions
Once you have a list of the questions your audience is asking, you need to structure your content effectively:
- Dedicated FAQ pages: group related questions and answer them concisely in one place. Use FAQ schema markup so search engines can read the structure — the FAQ Schema Generator will build that markup for you.
- In-depth blog posts: take one complex question ("how much does roof repair cost?") and write a comprehensive guide that breaks the answer down properly. Check the difficulty column first — a question scoring under 30 is a far better first target than the head term it contains.
- Product pages: anticipate buying objections by answering the common transactional questions right next to your "Add to cart" or "Sign up" buttons. Sort by intent to find them.
The Value of Real Search Data
The alternative to this is guessing, or asking an AI to invent a list of questions that sound plausible. Every question here was typed into Google by a real person, which is why each one arrives with a search volume attached — you can see how many people ask it each month before you commit a week to answering it. The People Also Ask block shows what Google itself considers the follow-up questions for your topic, and the Reddit threads show where people are already discussing it in their own words.
Once you have picked your questions, run the topic through the Keyword Research tool to see the non-question phrases around it, and plan the articles from there.
Frequently asked questions
Where do these questions come from?
Three sources, all of them real searches rather than generated text. The main table comes from our keyword index: phrases containing your topic that begin with how, what, why, can, is and so on, each with its own search volume. The second block is Google's own People Also Ask box for your topic. The third is the Reddit threads Google ranks for it, which we link out to rather than reproduce.
How broad should my input be?
Broader than you would expect. This tool matches questions that contain your phrase, so every word you add cuts the results: 'dog training' returns over 1,300 questions, while 'enterprise crm' returns three. Start with the category you sell in and use the filters to narrow down. If a narrow topic returns little, the People Also Ask block will usually still have something.
What does the difficulty score mean?
Keyword Difficulty is a 0–100 estimate of how hard it will be to reach the top 10 organic results, calculated from the backlink profiles and authority of the pages ranking today. It describes your competition rather than the question itself. Question searches often score far lower than the head term they contain, which is exactly what makes them worth writing for.
Can I use this for B2B?
Yes, with one adjustment. B2B buyers ask detailed questions during their research phase and answering those is one of the best ways to capture qualified leads. But B2B topics are narrower, so search from the category rather than your exact positioning — 'crm software' rather than 'enterprise crm for logistics teams' — and filter the results down afterwards.
Can I export the questions?
Yes. Every run includes a CSV of the questions with their volume, difficulty, cost per click and intent, and the export always matches whatever filters you have applied. Live search data is billed to us on every lookup, so the tool is part of a Pro plan.
